Tramex moisture detection equipment

concrete moisture detector

   Concrete Encounter

for measuring moisture content ...
instantly ... in concrete floors and floor screeds without the need to drill or damage the surface.

SCREEDS AND CONCRETE FLOORS MUST BE DRY BEFORE THE FLOOR COVERING IS INSTALLED

  • Regular checking of moisture content during the drying out period of a new concrete floor or floor screed is important to ensure it has reached sufficient dryness to accept the floor covering.
  • Excess moisture in the concrete could cause latent problems such as condensation or failure of the adhesive under the floor covering.
  • The Concrete Encounter will give you an instant reading of moisture content up to 6% concrete; up to 9% gypsum screed enabling you to make an informed decision on when to install the floor covering.
  • To use, simply switch on and hold the instrument firmly against the surface. As many non-destructive tests as you need can be carried out in seconds without the need to drill or damage the concrete.

DESIGNED FOR THE FLOORING INDUSTRY

Tramex has been designing, manufacturing and marketing worldwide, non-destructive moisture meters for more than 20 years. You can, therefore, purchase with confidence that you are getting the latest, and yet the most practical and useful, moisture measurement instrument available to the flooring industry.

SCHMIDT Concrete Test Hammers

Schmidt concrete test hammers
Schmidt Type NR concrete test hammers
Type N and Type NR

Many more types available!

Concrete testing with the original SCHMIDT Hammer is the most frequently used method worldwide for non-destructive testing of concrete and structural components. No other manufacturer offers such a wide range of different types. Each hammer is designed for specific test applications.

The test hammer will hit concrete at a defined energy. Its rebound is dependent on the hardness of the concrete and is measured by test equipment. By reference to conversion tables, the rerebound value can be used to determine the compressive strength of concrete in situ on a building structure.

All types will be supplied in a carrying case including a grinding stone and operating instructions.

The CM9 Microprocessor CoverMaster

The CM52 Cover Master
Manufactured by: Manufactured by Protovale (Oxford) Ltd.

Combines Protovale's considerable experience with the the field-proven CM5 with a microprocessor programmed to do something really useful: LCD digital readout has back-lighting for perfect legibility in low light levels. Full textual screen also displays operating prompts and short-form instructions.

LanGauges currently available: Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and also some combinations for bi-lingual countries.

Only four buttons to control all functions. True one-handed operation: control buttons duplicated on search head.

Accuracy well within BS1881:204 over the full range of concrete covers specified in EC2/ENV1992, DIN1045, SIA162, ACI318M and CP110, using a single search head. Also complies fully with DGZfP:B2.

Not just one, but two bar-sizing techniques incorporated:

"Autosize": continuous "on the fly" estimation of bar diameter enables cover to bars of unknown size to be displayed directly, and lapped bars to be recognized.

"Orthogonal" bar-sizing technique for precision measurement of the diameter of a single bar.

Independently-controlled sound system gives three types of audible signal through built-in loudspeaker, without compromising accuracy of digital system:

  • Experience-proven variable-frequency tone signals approach to a bar
    and peaks exactly over it;
  • "MaxPip" emits a single bleep as each bar is scanned across;
  • "UnderCover" signals only those bars with less than a user-preset cover;
    Bar-location signal duplicated by an ultra-bright LED on the search head.
  • Socket for optional headphones fitted as standard;
  • Weatherproof construction: front panel sealed to IP54.
  • Search head clips to shoulder-slung electronics unit when not in use.
  • Optional Large Head available to double cover range.

Concrete Covermeters

Locating steel reinforcement bars and metal pipes is essential in the construction and maintenance of structures. Damage caused when a drill or a fastener makes contact with a pipe is costly. A drill making contact with rebar or tendon ducts, however, not only destroys the drill bit but also can lead to serious structural damage.

Before carrying out any maintenance work, it is vital to identify the location, orientation and depth of sub-surface metalwork. Elcometer has three covermeters in their range, these are listed below:

Elcometer Protovale 331 Model B

Measuring concrete cover thickness with unparalleled accuracy the Elcometer Protovale 331 Model B is an entry level gauge for users who simply want to identify and measure the depth of the rebar.

Elcometer Protovale 331 Model S

Measuring concrete cover thickness with a very high level of accuracy, the Elcometer Protovale 331 Model S is an intermediate level gauge for users who want greater accuracy in measuring the depth of rebar together with a simple data storage capability for recording and downloading data at a later date.

Elcometer Protovale 331 Model T

Incorporating all the features and functionality of the Model B and Model S Covermeters, the Model T comes with the additional ability to store in excess of 65,000 readings in either individual batches or multiple spreadsheet (grid) style batch surveys.

Elcometer Protovale 331 CoverMaster® Software

Supplied free with each Elcometer Protovale 331 Model T and as an optional extra for the Model S, Elcometer's CoverMaster® software is designed to further simplify the setting up of your covermeter.

Rebar Locators

Designed specifically to identify the location and orientation of reinforcement bars and other below surface metal objects.

Locating steel reinforcement bars and metal pipes is essential in the construction and maintenance of structures. Damage caused when a drill or a fastener makes contact with a pipe is costly. A drill making contact with rebar, however, not only destroys the drill bit but also can seriously weaken the rebar, leading to serious structural damage.

Before carrying out any maintenance work, it is vital to identify the location, orientation and depth of sub-surface metalwork.

Elcometer P100 Imp Rebar Locator

The Elcometer P100 is a robust and economical gauge designed to identify the location and orientation of reinforcement bars, metal gas and metal water pipes. Mild steel and stainless steel galvanised wall ties can also be found with the addition of an optional Search Coil (or probe).

Elcometer P120 Rebar Locator

The Elcometer P120 rebar locator is perhaps the easiest and fastest way of detecting reinforcing bars in concrete. Widely used before coring or drilling holes to find “safe spots”, the Elcometer P120 will not only indicate the rebar’s location and direction but will also give an indication of the depth of concrete cover.

Humboldt Vapor Emission Test Kit

Vapor Emission Test Kit, 12-Pak (10,000 sq. ft.)— HC-2993B

Vapor Emission Test Kit, 12-Pak (10,000 sq. ft.) The vapor emission test is used for determining the moisture acceptability for the placement of floor coverings and coatings over concrete slab surfaces. Using this method, users can easily quantify the volume of water vapor emitting from a 1,000 square foot concrete slab over a 24-hour period. Commonly known as the Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Vapor Emission Method, the test is directly specified by the vast majority of the Floor Covering Industry as the primary measure of moisture acceptability for floor covering or coating installations. The kit consists of a calcium chloride container, a specifically designed dome cover with seal and step-by-step instructions. A balance or scale readable to 0.1 grams is required, but must be purchased separately. Meets ASTM E1907 and F1869 specifications.
