"DIAM-end" Concrete Cylinder Grinder

The “DIAM-end” Concrete Cylinder Grinder is an essential tool in any modern concrete laboratory. This multi-sample preparation unit eliminates the need for qualification testing or documentation of common capping methods when testing design strengths exceeding 7000 psi (48.3 mPa). It can eliminate the time consuming and labor intensive practice of capping and reduce health hazards and safety concerns. It can also “save” samples with damaged or poorly finished ends that would otherwise be unusable for testing. Large laboratories with heavy sample volumes will find this machine cost-effective for processing their “regular” concrete samples on a daily basis. Up to 130 cylinders may be processed in a single 8-hour shift. Technicians are free to perform other duties during grinding cycles.

The “DIAM-end” Concrete Cylinder Grinder accommodates both 6" (150mm) test cylinders and 4" (100mm) cylinders. No plumbing or drains are required and dust hazards are eliminated. Once the cylinders are mounted in the carousel and the grinding cycle started, operation is entirely automated. The grinder continues to operate until the preset amount of material has been removed from the sample. Amount to be removed can be adjusted by the operator. The machine then polishes the end of each sample and automatically shuts down. Replacement Diamond Grinding Heads are available. Other accessories include Tool Set for measuring planeness of sample ends, and Inspection Jig for checking perpendicularity and alignment.
